The 5th Annual Bark in the Park is shaping up to be another great event. We will transform Summerlake Park in Tigard into a Bark full of fun. We hope to make this the best Bark ever.
The community has outdone itself again with this years Silent Auction. We have Weekend to the Coast and Sun River Getaway packages, Veterinary exam packages, Cookie Bouquets, and Pet Grooming packages just to name a few.
Bark in the Park is a fun and exciting event. It has a two fold purpose. First and foremost, it is designed to bring the plight of the unwanted adoptable animals to the attention of the public. In the Portland metro area, there are far too many adoptable animals euthanized. This year we will focus on bringing to the Bark as many of our past adopters. Our hope is to have over 1000 happy adopters and dogs at the Bark. We want the public to be aware of how these animals have been saved by their owners, and when given a chance, have brought much joy and companionship to their new families.
Secondly, the Bark brings in much needed donations so that more animals can be saved. These donations are used to save more animals and further our goals of saving all unwanted adoptable animals in the Portland metro area. These donations are given by the walkers, who come out and enjoy a wonderful walk with their dog and like-minded pet owners. Besides the walk, we will have low cost microchipping, our famous "Mutt Show", and our annual visit by an animal communicator. There will be games, contests, demonstrations, and a wonderful "pet mall" where many vendors bring their eclectic array of products, services, and handmade crafts. Over the past three years, we have grown bigger and better and this year promises the be the best yet!
